Primero, fuimos en 2 grupos al monasterio de Suso. La guía nos dijo que Suso viene del latín y significa en castellano antiguo "arriba" y Yuso, "abajo". Entramos y nos dijo que el castellano fue escrito primero en Suso, por un monje, pero está conservado en Yuso. Adentro no era tan grande como me lo imaginaba. Había vanos y todo parecía estar hecho de piedra. Había tumbas por fuera, y por dentro, la tumba de San Milán. También nos ha dicho que solo 20 personas puedan entrar a la vez.

First, we went into 2 groups to the monastery of Suso. The guide told us that Suso comes from Latin and means in old Castilian "up" and Yuso, "down". We went in and she told us that the Castilian was written first in Suso, by a monk, but is preserved in Yuso. Inside was not as big as I imagined. There were vains and everything seemed to be made of stone. There were graves on the outside, and inside, the tomb of St. Milan. She also told us that only 20 people can enter at a time.





 Después, a las 12.15, entramos en el monasterio de Yuso, que parecía ser mucho más grande que Suso y mucho más desarrollado.  Dicen que el castellano fue inventado por la gente del pueblo, porque durante muchos años, se han ido cambiando el latín. Hasta que un día, un monje escribió por primera vez el castellano. Las páginas se llaman "glosas".

Then, at 12.15, we entered the monastery of Yuso, it appeared to be much larger than Suso and more developed. They say that the Castilian was invented by the people in the town, because for many years, they have been changing Latin. Until one day, a monk first wrote the Castilian. The pages are called "glosses".



Cada comienzo de primavera y de otoño, ocurre el equinoccio. A las 6 y cuarto de la tarde, un rayo de luz entra por el rosetón que pasa por el circulo y da el centro de la iglesia.

Los restos de San Milán están conservados en Yuso. Los monasterios de Yuso y Suso son declarados como patrimonio de la humanidad.

Each beginning of spring and autumn the equinox occurs. At 6.15 in the afternoon, a ray of light enters the rosette passing through the circle and gives light to the center of the church.

The remains of San Milan are preserved in Yuso. The monasteries of Yuso and Suso are declared as world heritage.
